The 19th annual Minnesota Cooks™ Day at the Minnesota State Fair is scheduled for Sunday, August 29th, 2021 in Dan Patch Park. We have been in communication with our friends at the fair, and currently they do plan to hold the Great Minnesota Get-Together this year. Please mark your calendars now and plan to join us for a safe and healthy local foods celebration!
This is the premier event of Minnesota Farmers Union’s local foods education and outreach program and not-to-be-missed local foods celebration. Minnesota Cooks demonstrates the economic value-added agriculture that benefits some farmers who produce locally grown food. It also celebrates the restaurateurs and chefs who stand alongside farmers and support them with their purchasing power.
In addition to Minnesota Cooks Day, we plan to hold several “mini” Minnesota Cooks events throughout the summer and fall and will be promoting those largely through Facebook, Instagram, and Minnesota Farmers Union’s communication channels. We hope you can join us for our Dinner-on-the-Farm on June 13th at Iron Shoe Farm in Princeton and at one or more of our stops alongside Sod House Theater Company in September, as they tour around the state performing Arla Mae’s Booyah Wagon, a play about local foods.
We would like to thank our dedicated program sponsors throughout the years: Farmers Union Insurance Agency, Farmers Union Industries and Minnesota Grown.
